Linda Drummond
Linda stands as a respected criminal and family barrister, having been admitted to the Bar in 2011.

In the area of criminal law, Linda's representation is marked by her adeptness in handling an array of cases, from Jury Trials in the District Court and High Court to Parole Hearings and Appeals in the High Court and Court of Appeal. Linda has a wealth of experience spanning allegations ranging from serious violence, drugs, kidnapping and sexual offences to intricate fraud matters. Linda has also collaborated alongside senior counsel in murder trials.

Complementing her criminal practice, Linda's expertise extends to Family Law, where she represents clients with a pragmatic approach. This includes Parenting Orders, Protection and Ancillary Orders, Oranga Tamariki proceedings, Paternity Disputes and Guardianship conflicts.

Jennifer North
Jenni is an experienced criminal defence and family law barrister.
Prior to joining the Bar, Jenni worked as a Government prosecutor and as a lawyer for Oranga Tamariki.
Jenni has extensive litigation experience in the District Court undertaking criminal defence work including jury trials involving charges of serious violence, sexual offending and fraud.
In addition to her criminal defence practice, Jenni has over eight years’ experience in the Family Court.

Jenni is a Lawyer for Child and is regularly appointed as Lawyer to Assist.
Jenni focuses on getting her clients the best outcome possible in matters involving custody, guardianship issues, Oranga Tamariki applications and Protection Orders.

Michael Sandom
Michael is a barrister specialising in both criminal defence and family law litigation. Michael is regularly appointed as Lawyer for Child and Lawyer to Assist. He is a respected practitioner in both jurisdictions by the judiciary, fellow counsel and clients.
​
Michael has acted as defence counsel for those charges with a broad range of offences, such as possession of drugs for supply, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and family violence.
​
Michael is a capable trial lawyer, appearing and defending clients at both Judge Alone and Jury Trials. He also accepts instructions from prisoners seeking to be released on parole.
​
Michael specialises in complex Family Court matters that include dynamics such as resist/refuse (i.e. alienation), responding to serious allegations of sexual, psychological and physical abuse against children and proceedings that are contemporaneoulsy before both the Family and Criminal Court.
​
Michael is available to accept instructions on a private fee arrangement for Family Court and Criminal matters. He also accepts, when available family legal aid cases and some cases on a special hourly rate for those who cannot afford standard fees, but narrowly exceed the income threshold for Legal Aid.

Michael is a member of the Canterbury-Westland Criminal Law Committee and a University of Canterbury Tutor - teaching laws and criminal justice.

Joanna Lorigan Innes
Joanna came to the independent Bar from a policing background having spent 12 years as a Police Officer before completing her Law Degree.

Jo specialises in criminal law and represents clients facing a broad range of criminal charges as well as traffic and Department of Corrections prosecutions.
​
Jo undertakes work in Family Law, Regulatory Law and Work Licences.
​
Jo is a Legal Aid provider and can take private instructions.
